Return balance to the whole body with Biodynamic Craniosacral Balancing. This, gentle and non-invasive therapy, uses the holistic listening skills of the practitioner and light contacts of hands and fingers to support the body's innate ability to self-regulate. On a physical level, it means to tune into the breath of life, created by the rhythmical fluctuation of bodily fluids.
The first rhythm, beginning in the embryonic state, is created through the cerebrospinal fluid (the liquid our brain and spinal cord are bathed in). This fluid is produced in waves, by ventricles located in our brain and sent to the spinal cord. This wave motion can be detected and followed throughout the body.
As such it is working with the core of our body-mind-spirit experience, through soothing an overstimulated nervous system.
A typical series encompasses 4-6 sessions. This can vary depending on individual circumstances.
Biodynamic Craniosacral Balancing primarily differs from other forms of craniosacral treatments by its use of holistic listening to the body's inherent health expression. Through focused intention and a gentle contact of hand and fingers, we tune in with the body to encourage intrinsic reorganisation of its tissues, fluids, energies and emotions. This process promotes natural adjustment from within.
Issues which can be addressed include:
We recommended you commence with a 1 ½ hr initial treatment. It will involve setting your intentions and may include a short mindfulness activity to help you become aware of the physical sensations throughout your body. The session will continue with you lying down on the treatment table, fully dressed to encourage relaxation.
A session often starts at the feet, the practitioner will gently rest their hands on your clothes and tune into the waves of your body's rhythm and may send a wave back to identify obstacles, discomfort or any stiffness.
During the session, your practitioner may use some of these common techniques::
Holding the core link involves resting the palm of the hands on the sacrum and the base of the skull simultaneously.
Releasing tension in the diaphragm with one hand on your back and the other on your upper abdomen.
Encouraging the free flow of the cerebrospinal fluid by holding the back of your skull (occiput) and near the temple area (sphenoid bone), is a powerful release for most people even on its own.
If the client's focus is to address ongoing stress, the practitioner may include working with the psoas muscle. This muscle can be overstimulated if we are constantly in a fight or flight response. The psoas muscle is interwoven with the diaphragm and therefore affects breathing and our emotional state.
A medicine wheel is a tool used by many ancient cultures. It has many names, but Mandala is our favourite because it combines Kerstin's Celtic roots, her favourite mediation practice, and recognises the knowledge of traditional medicine by the ancient people of the Americas. 'Working Mandalas' represent the specific time and space in which they are created and we use this ancient counselling practice to support each individual. In the process we discover your sitting place and in doing so reveal disharmony within you. For more information on Shamanism, refer to our blog below.
Following the creation of your Mandala in the initial session, we determine our next steps. This may include removing imprints and entities from the luminous field, bodywork-meditation, authentic movements, heart-beat drumming or other guided pathways and dream-journeys.
The practice of creating crystal, natural or drawn Mandala diaries is an excellent tool for everyone to learn. The process is most effective when combined with our Sacred Sound and Movement class.
Shamanic reading sessions are available in person and virtuel virtual

Sacred movement is designed to allow expression of the body-mind-soul unit. Our classes are based on dance therapy, combining authentic and exploratory movement with your favourite ways of moving, to awaken your awareness. We also use our voice, expanding our breath with sounds. Voice-sound practices create vibrations to support the opening of our chakras.
There are no limits to your self-expression. What sounds support your arm movements? Do the sounds of the slithering snake or the bird spreading its wings express your body-mind-soul? This class will provoke you to consider what sound comes from your heart-chakra and how it travels through your whole body. How do I move from my third eye and what does it sound like? How about my root-chakra?
The Sacred Sound and Movement class goes beyond building your self-awareness. The practice creates a positive ripple effect through you to your family and the wider community. When practised with a group, these ripples gain greater momentum and the positive effect reaches even further.
Together let us find your authentic movement and sound by utilising a unique dance expression to connect you to your spirit. The class will finish with a stillness practice to help you listen to your body-mind-spirit connection.
Classes commencing soon for 2022
Kerstin began her journey as a Physiotherapist in 1986 in her birth country of Germany. Following her deep interest in the union of body-mind-spirit, she undertook further studies in Biodynamic Craniosacral Balancing.
By combining her Biomechanical knowledge with many years of awareness training and clinical practice, Kerstin has developed a unique skill set incorporating multiple modalities.
Kerstin's practice combines her passion for Yoga, modern dance, dance therapy and contact improvisation. She also completed studies in Shamanic wisdom, which she has practised in Germany, France and Australia.
Oneness: When body-mind-soul are one and one with all living beings.
Within our body, our heart holds space for our soul. Our body holds space for our heart.
As such, our hearts represent our physical world and what belongs to Mother Earth. Our soul belongs to the stars and the central sun.
…in our hearts, both are one. Oneness
We passionately support people to be fully embodied in this world, whilst also connecting to the mystery and sacredness of all life. Our mission is to cultivate sacred spaces within ourselves and all around us so that we all may live a full and joyful life. May join in the new way walking.
